Trees can be removed in one of two ways:
- Directional Felling is where the tree is felled in a certain direction from the base of the stem. For this technique to be used there must be enough room around the tree, free from obstructions such as buildings, roads and power lines.
- Sectional Felling can be used where directional felling isn't feasible. Sectional felling is where a tree is removed in pieces and where necessary, the sections lowered to the ground in a controlled manner to prevent damage to the surrounding area.
